Morris Library offers permit parking in nearby University lots<\/a>. Metered parking spaces are available on the south side of the library building using the Passport kiosk or parking app<\/a>. Handicapped parking spaces are also available in this area. If these spaces are full, there is a Visitor Parking lot across the street from the library on S. College Ave. For more information about parking permits and regulations, you can visit the UD Parking website: https:\/\/sites.udel.edu\/parking\/permit-info\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n Please see the University Parking website<\/a> for details on how to obtain a permit.<\/p>\n Users with disabilities have physical access to the Morris Library via the main entrance ramp from Lot 34 (the South side of the building) and push buttons to open both sets of glass entrance doors (the exterior doors and the interior glass doors) located near the left set of doors and on the wall in the foyer.\u00a0 All visitors to the Morris Library are required to tap their active UD ONEcard to gain entrance through the turnstiles or register at the Welcome Desk just before the turnstiles with a valid government-issued photo ID to enter the building. The entrance security gates of the Morris Library are wheelchair-accessible, with the left-most gate upon entering being the widest gate.<\/p>\n There is a ramp on the north side of Morris Library, accessible from the Visitor Center parking lot and through Mentor Circle, but this ramp does not have an ADA-accessible slope. The door from the patio into Morris Library Commons has push button access.<\/p>\n The elevator located off to the right just past the turnstiles in the Information Room and the elevator located behind the south atrium stairway are equipped with controls at wheelchair height.<\/p>\n The Help Center service desk, to the left after passing through the turnstiles, the Research Data and Design Commons service desk on the lower level, and the Special Collections Reception desk on the second floor have lower sections to accommodate library users in wheelchairs. Computers, bathrooms and water fountains are also available for wheelchair access.<\/p>\n Morris Library floor plan maps<\/a><\/p>\n Push-button accessible restrooms are located on the first floor of Morris Library<\/a> outside of the Reading Room.<\/p>\n Wheelchair accessible all gender restrooms are located in the Library Commons (The Nest). All other restrooms have a wheelchair accessible stall, but do not have push-button access. Additional All Gender Restrooms are on the Lower Level<\/a> near the group study rooms.<\/p>\n Red Emergency Phones are located on each main stairwell exit at each floor. These phones connect automatically with dispatch at the University of Delaware Police Department and are labeled with location information to give to dispatch.<\/p>\n Library users who are not able to use the stairs to evacuate the building should move to one of the three interior stairways designated as an Area of Rescue. The stairway landings of the South Central, North Central and East Central interior stair towers on the Lower Level, Second and Third Floors are designated as Areas of Rescue. Each of these stairway landings has a fire protection rating of two hours.
