Our investments in this area focus on open content, open infrastructure, and memberships in organizations that work to further open.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nContent<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/about.jstor.org\/path-to-open\/\">JSTOR Path to Open<\/a><\/p>\n<p>JSTOR&#8217;s Path to Open provides libraries with affordable access to diverse, high-quality frontlist titles; support small and medium university presses in open access publishing; help authors reach a global audience; and advance equity of access to underserved researchers around the world. The growing collection includes peer-reviewed monographs in disciplines across the humanities and social sciences, with an emphasis on works that bring forward a range of perspectives and ideas. Path to Open books will be available DRM-free with unlimited user access.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/direct.mit.edu\/books\/pages\/direct-to-open\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIT Press Direct to Open<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MIT Press&#8217;s Direct to Open helps libraries provide open and equitable access to scholarship by offering access to new MIT Press works and backlist\/archives and covers partial direct costs for publications available for print purchase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/lyrasis.org\/oacip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Access Community Investment Program (OACIP)<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The LYRASIS Open Access Community Investment Program (OACIP) is a collaborative framework that facilitates collective funding and evaluation of Diamond Open Access journals. It brings together stakeholders to support academic-led publishers, promote equity, and sustain diverse scholarship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.openlibhums.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Library of Humanities<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Library of Humanities (OLH) is an academic-led open access publisher offering journals in diverse humanities disciplines. OLH operates on an equitable funding model through library consortium support, making research freely accessible without authors paying fees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/punctumbooks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Punctum Books<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Punctum Books is an open access academic publisher that challenges traditional forms of intellectual writing by supporting experimental and genre-bending works. Punctum follows a cooperative funding model with libraries, ensuring access to their publications without imposing author-facing fees to publish open access books.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/scoap3.org\/what-is-scoap3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SCOAP3 Journals<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SCOAP3 (the Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics) offers open access publishing opportunities for journals related to high-energy physics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.publishing.umich.edu\/features\/fund-to-mission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University of Michigan Press Fund to Mission<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University of Michigan Press&#8217;s Fund to Mission publishing model aims to make 75% of their monographs open access in 2023 without charging authors fees. Libraries supporting the initiative gain access to a mix of Press titles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nInfrastructure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/doaj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directory of Open Access Journals<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DOAJ is an online directory that indexes open access journals. If you want to find an open access journal to publish your research, the DOAJ is an excellent place to start looking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.doabooks.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Directory of Open Access Books<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/orcid.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ORCiD<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ORCiD, which stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, provides researchers with unique identifiers that accurately attribute their scholarly outputs. ORCiDs are being used by funders and publishers in order to connect individual publications with researchers\u2019 whole bodies of work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/datacite.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DataCite<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DataCite supports citation and discovery of research by providing persistent identifiers (DOIs) for research data and other research outputs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nMemberships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sparcopen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SPARC<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) is a non-profit advocacy organization that promotes open access and equitable academic publishing through policy change and empowerment of its members to foster a fairer knowledge ecosystem.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.heliosopen.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HELIOS<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Higher Education Leadership Initiative for Open Scholarship (HELIOS) is a cohort of colleges and universities in the US that are committed to advancing open scholarship. Leaders from these institutions collaborate to promote transparency, inclusivity, and trust in research.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/open.umn.edu\/oen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Education Network<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Open Education Network (OEN) is a community that promotes creating and adopting open textbooks to reduce barriers to education and improve student success. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/library.udel.edu\/teaching-and-learning\/oer\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learn more about our open and affordable teaching material initiatives.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/librarypublishing.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Library Publishing Coalition<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Library Publishing Coalition (LPC) is a community-let association of academic and research libraries that promotes open, inclusive, and sustainable scholarly publishing.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Library, Museums and Press is committed to supporting initiatives that seek to change how scholarly knowledge is disseminated.
