The Delaware Digital Newspaper Project (DDNP) team is quickly winding down our phase II grant (Sept. 2017 – Aug. 2019), and there is a lot of exciting information to share!
All 10 batches of microfilmed newspaper content have been sent to the Library of Congress after digitization, and new content is regularly added to the Chronicling America database. To date, we have nearly 153K pages of Delaware newspaper content available for open-access research:
National History Day in Delaware
Many, many thanks to our Library administration for sponsoring two $100 special prizes at the NHD in Delaware event held on Saturday, May 4th. UD Library event judges included Meg Grotti, Lauren Wallis, Julia Oestreich, and Grace Adeneye. Special thanks to Grace and Julia who served on the special prize panel. We awarded one $100 prize for an impressive individual documentary on the Cuyahoga River submitted at the junior level.
DDNP Next Steps
Our phase III grant proposal was submitted in Jan. 2019, and we will know if we are successful in August 2019. Please feel free to reach out to Molly Olney-Zide, project manager, with any questions you may have (firstname.lastname@example.org).
