This has been a rough year and a half, and I do hope you have all been able to stay as happy and healthy as possible.
Despite COVID, we are still moving things forward with the Delaware Digital Newspaper Project (DDNP) and have met the most important deadlines for the project. Of the 11 batches we will produce this cycle, we have completed collation on 7 batches of content.
- Progress so far for Phase III
- Search all Delaware newspapers
The DDNP team would also like to express our gratitude to Project Director, Monica McCormick, for her leadership on the grant for the past four years. She will be heading off to an exciting new position at Barnard College. I will continue serving as the Project Manager for DDNP and will also take on the role of the new Project Director.
Because we had some COVID-related delays, the National Endowment of the Humanities has awarded DDNP a 12 month extension to complete our grant work (new end date of August 31, 2022). We plan to see more outreach in the upcoming year, and please reach out if you have low cost promotional ideas (public libraries and historical societies, especially!).
I wish you all the very best, and please reach out with questions!
Sincerely,
Molly (mollyoz@udel.edu)
