About this Event
There have been many efforts to encourage children to eat well—addressing food deserts, implementing recent policy changes in food served at school lunches, and developing the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Yet, today’s youth also face a barrage of new marketing techniques online, specifically on YouTube.
Join Dr. Allison Karpyn to discuss the latest strategies as well as the historical roots of healthy food policy that she has researched as part of her latest text, Food and Public Health.
Karpyn is senior associate director of the Center for Research in Education and Social Policy (CRESP), and an associate professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Delaware. Most recently, Karpyn was named a Fulbright Scholar to study food insecurity in the Bahamas.
