About this Event
Are you curious about GIS and how you can use it in your research? A geographic information system (GIS) is a powerful tool for mapping and analyzing spatial data.
Discover how ArcGIS Online, a user-friendly web-based mapping tool, can help explain and analyze your data with a spatial component. You will also learn how to add data to an online map, and delve into the topic of data layers—a key concept in GIS.
The mapping tool also integrates well with ArcGIS Pro for more advanced work.
Olena Smith, lead geospatial information consultant for UD IT’s Research Computing Group, and John Stevenson, head of the Multimedia Collections and Services Department, will lead the workshop. It is co-sponsored by UD IT’s Research Computing Group.
This workshop is open to UD students, faculty and staff. Faculty and students who are new to GIS but interested in how to incorporate it in their research or class assignments are encouraged to attend. Registration is required as seating is limited.
