Digital collections are ubiquitous in today’s cultural and academic landscape. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the process of taking a digital project from an idea to a realized and accessible collection.
During this workshop, explore tools and strategies for digitizing materials for your own research or teaching purposes. You will learn how to plan for your projects and gain an understanding of the various factors that may impact the process.
You will also receive practical guidance on how to evaluate the suitability of materials and collections for digitization, as well as what resources are available through the Library, Museums and Press for digitizing materials.
The workshop will be led by members of Special Collections and Digital Collections and Preservation, including: John Caldwell, coordinator of political papers and electronic records; Theresa Hessey, digital collections librarian; Molly Olney-Zide, head of Digital Collections and Preservation; and Tom Pulhamus, digital technology librarian.
This workshop is open to the public. Registration is required as seating is limited.
