Hello all! While thinking of things to blog about, I stumbled upon a very interesting take on virtual reality. Instead of VR being used solely for gaming, other industries are using it to their advantage, such as health care.
The neurosurgical team at The Royal London Hospital and FundamentalVR has given the world its first ever VR brain surgery!
The team used 360 HD cameras and Go Pros to create an experience which can put the viewer in the perspective of the patient and the surgeon.
The project is part of Brainbook, which has previously recorded videos of brain surgeries to educate students. Fundamental VR has developed a system that lets people perform virtual surgeries where they can feel what actual surgeons feel!
Here is the link the surgery but DO NOT WATCH if you have a weak stomach!
