Rutgers has also inherited a number of classic University of Delaware Press titles, particularly in the fields of literary studies and art history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRutgers University Press is proud of the partnerships it has built over the last five years and honored to begin our new endeavor with the University of Delaware Press,\u201d said Henry Turner, vice president for academic initiatives at Rutgers University. \u201c[University of Delaware Press] publishes exceptional and significant books on the state of Delaware and in fields that are critically important to the humanities, such as literary studies, 18th-century studies and history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur partnership will not only expand the reach of Delaware\u2019s books but lift Rutgers\u2019s list as well,\u201d said Rutgers University Press Director Micah Kleit. \u201cPublishing is a mature business, where growth must be found by increasing our market share while also expanding our output, and this partnership allows our combined publishing operations to do both in these challenging times.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe University of Delaware Press is thrilled to enter into a partnership with Rutgers University Press, another nonprofit publisher committed to publishing high-quality, innovative scholarship,\u201d said University of Delaware Press Director Julia Oestreich. \u201cRutgers has a proven record of cultivating partnerships that allow presses and organizations to improve the quality and extend the impact of their publications. Despite the challenging climate, UD Press is seeing a period of growth, with the establishment of new series, the increased profile of existing series, and the revitalization of its regional list. Rutgers is the right partner to ensure the [UD] Press continues on this trajectory while pursuing new and exciting opportunities emerging in the scholarly publishing landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs our Library-based publishing services evolve and expand, this partnership will provide essential services for the University of Delaware Press,\u201d said Monica McCormick, associate university librarian for Publishing, Preservation, Research and Digital Access at the UD Library, Museums and Press. \u201cWe are delighted to be working with the skilled professionals at Rutgers University Press, whose combination of traditional and innovative methods will ensure that our works reach the widest possible audience. We look forward to engaging the future of scholarly publishing with them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>New University of Delaware Press titles include additions to prestigious series: <em>Performative Polemic: Anti-Absolutist Pamphlets and Their Readers in Late Seventeenth-Century France<\/em>, <em>England\u2019s Asian Renaissance<\/em>, and <em>Storytelling in Sixteenth-Century France: Negotiating Shifting Forms<\/em> under The Early Modern Exchange; and <em>Making Ideas Visible in the Eighteenth Century<\/em> under the Studies in Seventeenth- and Eighteenth-Century Art and Culture series. The new Performing Celebrity series will see its first volumes published in 2021: <em>Celebrity Across the Channel, 1750-1850<\/em>; <em>Black Celebrity: Contemporary Representations of Postbellum Athletes and Artists<\/em>; and<em> Carrying All Before Her: Celebrity Pregnancy and the London Stage, 1689-1800<\/em>. Also, the first volume in the Material Culture Perspectives series, <em>Elusive Archives: Material Culture in Formation<\/em>, will publish this spring.
