Have you ever wondered what magic you can create in our multimedia studios? Whether you\u2019re a first-time visitor or just curious about what\u2019s possible, let\u2019s explore all the creative opportunities for students, faculty and staff in the Student Multimedia Design Center.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For entry, we have only one rule … you must use the studios for their intended purpose. But that doesn’t mean you can\u2019t have fun and experiment with our multimedia equipment and studios. You don\u2019t need to have a full-blown project in mind\u2014sometimes, the best way to learn is just to play around. Test out new software, mess with effects or remix existing media. Creativity thrives when you give yourself the freedom to explore.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Have something to say? Grab a mic, bring a friend and start recording! Whether it’s a deep dive into a topic you’re passionate about, an interview with a classmate or a fun, casual chat podcasting is a great way to sharpen your communication skills and share your voice with the world. <\/span>And who knows? You might even have a class project that requires a podcast\u2014why not get a head start!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our studios can be your personal movie set\u2014whether you’re filming a mockumentary, a short film or a creative social media post. Experiment with professional cameras, lighting and green screens to bring your vision to life. Plus, our expert staff is here to help you get hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment. Never used editing software before. No problem! Experimenting with beginner-friendly tools like Audacity and GarageBand is a great way to start. And if you’re a seasoned audio producer, we\u2019ve got you covered with industry-standard software like Logic Pro and Adobe Audition.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you’re into graphic design or animation, take advantage of the studio’s high-end tools to work on your projects. Whether you’re creating a digital illustration, designing a logo or animating a short clip,<\/span> SMDC studios<\/span><\/a> has the software you need. If you enjoy drawing, sketching, or digital painting, you can reserve Studio 5, which comes equipped with a Cintiq drawing tablet to bring your artistic vision to life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

🗣️<\/span><\/b> 6. Work on Public Speaking & Presentation Skills<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Expert public speakers recommend filming yourself while giving a speech or presentation as a great way to practice. Watching the playback can help you refine your delivery, body language, and confidence.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You can reserve one of our studios to prepare for an important class presentation or job interview. Studios 2\u20134 have built-in cameras, or you can borrow one of our video cameras to record your speech.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
