Description: 130 leaves ; parchment, ill. ; 175 x 120 (95 x 60) mm. bound to 180 x 125 mm.

Layout: Written in 20 long lines; ruled in red ink with double upper horizontal bounding lines; prickings in outer margins; some vertical catchwords.

Decoration: 10 large miniatures with full borders on brown or liquid gold grounds with foliage, bird and animal motifs: fol. 14r, St. John the Evangelist writing; fol. 19r, Agony in the Garden; 33r, Annunciation; 40r, Visitation; 47r, Nativity; 50v, Annunciation to the Shepherds; 53r, Adoration of the Magi; 58v, Flight into Egypt; 66v, David in prayer; 83r, Raising of Lazarus. 6 9-16-line historiated initials with illumination, depicting the Passion; 11 3-7-line historiated initials with illumination; 1-2-, 5-, and 9-line illuminated initials. Illumination executed by two artists.

Script: Written in brown ink in two sizes of a well formed lettre bâtarde.

Binding: 19th century leather binding by Hans Asper with working metal clasp and fitted case.
