William Cobbett letter to "Gentlemen"

Scope and Contents

An autograph letter written and signed by William Cobbett to "Gentlemen," reading in part, "The delay of the printer in coming to me has been so long, that I have been compelled to send off my manuscript to London. I am getting on with another copy. However, I really am afraid, that it would be productive of great inconvenience to your printer; for I must have proofs and revises." In closing, Cobbett writes of Henry Charles Carey, "I hope, that Mr. Carey's health is perfectly restored. County air, early rising; milk and water. These are my preservatives," dated April 21, 1818.
