Anthony Robert Aikman was born on February 3, 1942, and was a British writer and film director. He grew up in St. Margaret's Bay. He was educated at Mercers and Westminster. He graduated from the University of Wales in 1962. He passed away on July 8, 2011.
Apart from an autobiographical element, this poem takes for its theme a commentary on social inequalities and unrest seen in places where the author has worked for many years as a volunteer. The style is based on Byron's Childe Harold's Pilgrimmage. Byron, whose words inspired generations of Europeans to rise up against oppression and injustice. Typescript of Anthony Aikman's long verse poem "An Oddysey," undated.
