This subseries consists of collectable buttons sold with tobacco products in late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Many of these buttons feature the slogan "I'm the guy..." followed by a joke. The "I'm the guy" phrase was coined by cartoonist Rube Goldberg, circa 1910. The phrase was used in a variety of marketing campaigns. For many of these buttons, the brand of cigarettes can be found on the back side of the button.
