Our goal is to support course material affordability at UD, promote the use of open and affordable educational resources and library collections, and empower faculty to innovate their teaching through the use of these materials.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The application period for this grant cycle is now open from January 9th to April 24th.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/delaware.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_6zApYA08AINBeJg\">Transition Grant proposal form<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/delaware.ca1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_eS3H03gQETA8pFk\">Author grant proposal form<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are four ways for faculty and instructors interested in reducing course costs with support from this grant program to proceed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Transition a small course:\u00a0 This track offers $500 <\/strong>grants to individuals or a team working to enrich a<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> small course (49 students or fewer) <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by incorporating open educational resources and\/or library-licensed materials in order to significantly reduce costs. Team members may receive up to $500 each.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transition a mid-sized course: This track offers $1,500 <\/strong>grants to individuals or a team that wishes to enrich a<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> mid-sized course (50-150 students) by incorporating open educational resources and\/or library-licensed materials in order to significantly reduce costs<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Transition a large enrollment course: This track offers $5,000 <\/strong>grants to individuals or a team that wishes to enrich a<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> large enrollment course (150 students or greater)<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by incorporating open educational resources and\/or library-licensed materials in order to significantly reduce costs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Author an open educational resource: This track offers $5,000 <\/strong>grants to individuals or a team who wish to create an open educational resource<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to fit the needs of their course through altering, editing, or remixing existing materials, and\/or creating original material. This could involve the inclusion of student-created materials, faculty contributions, or faculty creating an edition or anthology of existing texts in accordance with fair use law. These projects will receive support from UD Press and Library staff.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The most successful applications to one of the transition tracks are those in which an applicant has scheduled a consultation with their<a href=\"https:\/\/library.udel.edu\/subject-specialists\/\"> liaison librarian<\/a> in advance, which includes a review of the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1ZfYuUSGp3Nq4r7cAWPlQrjS8oigs5uykGReZO3BzG34\/edit?usp=sharing\">transition grant rubric.<\/a> \u00a0Those considering the authorship track are encouraged to reach out to <a href=\"mailto:jkambara@udel.edu\">Jeanne Kambara<\/a>, OER Publishing Librarian and <a href=\"mailto:joestrei@udel.edu\">Julia Oestreich<\/a>, Director of the UD Press, to schedule a consultation in advance, which includes a review of the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/document\/d\/1kPvQ6J9brFVNi7Ay38iC5sHN1EE3wPazvfBsgtq9yok\/edit?tab=t.\">author an open educational resource grant rubric<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility<\/h2>\n<p>Any faculty (full-time or part-time) or instructor of record delivering courses at the University of Delaware is eligible to apply.
