Federal public access policies require grant-funded researchers to make their scholarly publications publicly accessible through approved repositories. Navigating these requirements can be complex, particularly as policies continue to evolve.
This workshop will provide an overview of current public access mandates and recommended strategies for working with publishers, managing author-accepted manuscripts and complying with federal requirements. Participants will learn how to use tools such as Open Policy Finder and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) to evaluate publisher policies and identify options for open-access publishing. The session will also highlight library resources that support researchers seeking affordable publishing options. Content will reflect policies and guidance in effect at the time of the workshop.
