Emily Holmes Coleman papers

 Collection
Identifier: MSS 0105

Abstract

The Emily Holmes Coleman Papers consist of 50 linear feet of literary, personal, and family papers of the American poet and novelist. Because of the inclusion of a significant collection of family correspondence, the papers span a period from 1852-1988. The bulk of the collection (dating 1930-1970) reflects Coleman's life and writing. The correspondence includes over 31,000 pages of incoming letters and Coleman's letters to others, for example her letters to longtime friend, Phyllis Jones, and Spiritualist Gay Taylor.
