Winter Session Update

Various locations within the UD Library, Museums and Press reopened Monday, January 10, for the remainder of Winter Session.
Morris Library is open to students, faculty, staff and the greater UD community Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Find specific hours for our branch libraries, including the Education Resource Center, here.
Online resources, including e-books, e-journals and databases, are accessible 24/7.

Reference Services
Ask the Library, our online chat service, is available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. A reference librarian will be on call in Morris Library Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Instruction will proceed as currently scheduled for winter session, including in-person classes.
Student Multimedia Design Center (SMDC)
The studios, microfilm room, and the film and video viewing carrel area are closed. There is a microfilm reader outside the microfilm room, and a VHS viewing station outside the viewing carrel area that will remain accessible.
Staff are available to help you check out multimedia equipment as well as DVDs, Blu-rays and other film and video materials. They will also retrieve requested microfilm.
Special Collections and Museums
Old College Gallery, Mechanical Hall Gallery, the Mineralogical Museum in Penny Hall and the Special Collections Gallery in Morris Library are closed during the Winter Session. The galleries reopen on Tuesday, February 8. Find information about upcoming and online exhibitions here.
The Special Collections Reading Room in Morris Library is open by appointment, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Researchers may schedule an appointment by emailing AskSpec@udel.libanswers.com or calling 302-831-2229. To ensure proper physical distancing, reading room access will be limited to four researchers at a time.
All in-person visitors are required to follow UD’s health protocols, which include wearing face masks, maintaining 3’ physical distance and completing the UD daily health screening prior to coming to campus.

Morris Library will offer limited services the week of January 3, 2022, in light of the University’s recent response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During this time, the building will be open for Pickup Service only. UD students, faculty and staff can request materials in advance, with pick-up hours available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
Virtual reference services, which include the Ask the Library online chat service, will be available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Online resources, including e-books, e-journals and databases, are accessible 24/7.
The Education Resource Center will be closed the week of January 3.
