An Authorized Borrower Card permits a faculty member’s research assistant to borrow material and pick up books and microfilm provided through Interlibrary Loan from the University of Delaware Library on behalf of the faculty member.
All Authorized Borrowers need to have their own valid University ID card and be at least eighteen years old. The faculty member accepts responsibility for returning or renewing all library material when it is due, and agrees to pay the replacement cost for lost or damaged material.
An Authorized Borrower Card Application form in Portable Document Format (PDF) can be downloaded below. After it has been completed and signed by the faculty member, it can be emailed to AskCirc@udel.libanswers.com or dropped off at the Morris Library Help Center. Please allow five working days for processing. To protect faculty members from having Authorized Borrower Card forms submitted in their name without their knowledge, processed Authorized Borrower Cards are mailed to the faculty member for distribution and are not given directly to the authorized representative.
