Have you ever wondered what magic you can create in our multimedia studios? Whether you’re a first-time visitor or just curious about what’s possible, let’s explore all the creative opportunities for students, faculty and staff in the Student Multimedia Design Center.
For entry, we have only one rule … you must use the studios for their intended purpose. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun and experiment with our multimedia equipment and studios. You don’t need to have a full-blown project in mind—sometimes, the best way to learn is just to play around. Test out new software, mess with effects or remix existing media. Creativity thrives when you give yourself the freedom to explore.
A quick glimpse of studios on our website might spark your curiosity, but in this article, you will discover what you can create here.

🗣️ 6. Work on Public Speaking & Presentation Skills
Expert public speakers recommend filming yourself while giving a speech or presentation as a great way to practice. Watching the playback can help you refine your delivery, body language, and confidence.
You can reserve one of our studios to prepare for an important class presentation or job interview. Studios 2–4 have built-in cameras, or you can borrow one of our video cameras to record your speech.
Members of the University community can book a studio for a two-hour block, up to a week in advance. Interested in making a reservation? Scroll down to the Reservation for Studios 1–6 section on our policy page for more details.
