Special Collections and Museums Launch New, Visitor-Centered Websites
The University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press is pleased to announce the launch of two newly designed and complementary websites, one for Special Collections and one for Museums, marking an important step forward in how these distinct yet collaborative units engage students, faculty and visitors.
While Special Collections and Museums share a division within Library, Museums and Press and a common commitment to object-based inquiry and experiential learning, each serves unique audiences and operates in separate locations. The new websites reflect both that shared mission and their individual identities, offering clearer navigation, expanded content and a more visually rich experience.
Designed with students and visitors in mind, the sites feature enhanced wayfinding information, visitor tips and guidelines, opportunities for students and improved access to information about class engagement and collection searches. Users are encouraged to explore the sites freely or use the new subsite maps for Special Collections and Museums.
The websites will continue to evolve in response to user experience feedback and an ongoing commitment to expanding visual communication. Collaborative platforms, including the View from the Vault blog series and exhibition information, will remain available and continue to showcase the work of the division.
All relevant subpages have been integrated into the new sites and previous URLs will redirect accordingly. Content managers, research guide editors and faculty and staff with linked materials are encouraged to update any affected links.
This project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of many, with primary leadership from Hillary S. Kativa, Dustin Frohlich, Amanda T. Zehnder, Kris Raser and Colleen D. Estes.
