Accessing Research Resources: Wiley Journals and New Tools
The University continues to face financial pressures, and the UD Library, Museums and Press is carefully balancing resources to support teaching, learning and research needs. As part of this effort, we have made strategic adjustments to our collections, including reductions in books, journals and databases. One result of this process is the cancellation of our Wiley Journals subscription as of January 1, 2026. Additionally, we are sharing solutions to help you continue accessing Wiley content through Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS) and introducing two new research tools designed to make your work faster and easier.
- What this means for you: Articles published before 2026 remain accessible as usual. Articles published January 2026 and after can be accessed through Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS), a new, fee-based, on-demand service that provides nearly immediate access to PDFs of articles from Wiley journals the Library does not subscribe to. During the pilot period, which runs through December 31, 2026, the Library will cover the cost of up to 10 Wiley articles per user. Later this year, we will explore expanding access to additional publishers.
We are pleased to introduce two new additional tools to make research faster and easier from LibKey, a suite of online services that quickly connect researchers with full-text articles:
- LibKey Discovery integrates directly with DELCAT to help you reach full-text articles in just a few clicks. Look for the “Download PDF” button to connect instantly to subscription and open-access content. Later this year, LibKey Discovery will expand to many of our databases.
- LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that detects digital object identifiers (DOIs) on websites, including Wikipedia. When a DOI is present, LibKey Nomad guides you to access the article through Library subscriptions, open access or interlibrary loan. It is available for several popular browsers and can be downloaded here: https://thirdiron.com/downloadnomad/.
Together, AGS, LibKey Discovery and LibKey Nomad are designed to help you get to the information you need when you need it, even when it isn’t immediately available through our subscriptions.
