Morris Library Room 102 Renovation Underway for New Extended-Hours Study Space
Renovation work has officially begun on Morris Library Room 102, formerly known as the Class of 1941 Lecture Room. As part of a university-wide initiative to upgrade classroom facilities across campus, this project will transform Room 102 into an extended-hours study area, expanding student study options during times when the main library is closed.
Located adjacent to the main entryway and the Morris Library Commons, the renovated Room 102 will establish a larger, integrated study zone at the front of the library. When the main library closes, the space will automatically open for student study using a UD ONECard access system via the patio door entrance.
During standard operating hours, the renovated Room 102 will remain available for library events, meetings, and instructional programming.
Building access to Morris Library will remain fully open and unaffected throughout the construction period. Construction activities generating significant noise will be limited as much as possible during open hours. Project completion is targeted prior to final exams in December.

Design Enhancements and Amenities
The redesigned space will incorporate modern architectural finishes and flexible layout options, including:
- Interior & Architectural Upgrades: A new glass storefront wall matching the entryway of Morris Library Commons, acoustic wall panels, updated carpeting, new lighting and ceiling systems, and window curtains.
- Flexible Capacity & Seating: Accommodations for 48 study seats across 12 tables and two lounge seats. All furniture will stack or nest for space-saving storage and rapid reconfigurations.
- Collaborative Tools: Mobile whiteboard walls.
