Gather at Morris: A Space for Reflection and Community
Our hearts are with everyone in our University of Delaware community who has been impacted by Saturday night’s shooting on Main Street. During difficult moments like this, it is important to know that we are not alone and that there are spaces where we can come together, find comfort and support one another.
Today, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Morris Library will offer a dedicated space in the Reading Room for prayer, reflection and coming together as a community.
You are welcome to receive a free hug, spend a quiet moment in prayer, journal, read, color, work on a puzzle, sit with your thoughts or simply be in the company of others. The Library will provide writing materials, coloring supplies and puzzles on site for anyone who would like to participate in these activities.
All students, faculty and staff are welcome. Come for a few minutes or stay as long as you need. There is no agenda, no expectation and no right or wrong way to spend your time here.
If you would like additional support:
- Counseling walk-in support: Monday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Warner Hall.
- TimelyCare: Available to students 24/7.
- Employee Assistance Program: Available to faculty and staff.
- Campus Alerts: Visit the Campus Alerts page for confirmed updates and additional resources.
In moments like these, community matters. We are here for you.
