Viewing Room

A 40-seat Viewing Room is located on the Lower Level of Morris Library for use by faculty and teaching assistants giving media-related presentations to University of Delaware classes. (It is not available for scheduling as a substitute for a regularly-scheduled classroom or as a meeting room for clubs or other campus groups.) It is equipped to show videos in VHS (NTSC and PAL) and DVD (multi-region, standard definition, and Blu-ray) formats. Projection equipment includes a rear-screen high-definition multimedia projector with Dolby surround sound.

Please Note:

1. Reservations must be made 7 days in advance and are accepted only for Monday thru Friday. Viewing Room reservation times are available from 9am until the space’s closing time, 2 hours before the library closes.
2. A faculty member or a designated teaching assistant must be present to conduct or monitor classes during screenings in the Viewing Room.
3. Only physical video material from the library’s Film & Video collection may be screened in the viewing room. Screening of any streaming media in the viewing room is no longer possible. Screening of any personal or other video material not part of the library’s collection, is not permitted.
4. The Viewing Room must be vacated promptly at the conclusion of the screening.
5. There is no food or drinks allowed in the Viewing Room.

Availability

UD faculty and teaching assistants interested in scheduling the Viewing Room should use the Media Scheduling Web Form. Reservations must be made at least 7 days in advance, and are accepted only for Monday thru Friday from 9am until the space’s closing time, 2 hours before the library closes.
