UD Dataverse

UD Dataverse

UD Dataverse is the University of Delaware’s institutional repository for research data. Designed to accommodate diverse research data from most disciplines, the platform provides a trusted environment to publish, preserve, discover, and cite datasets. This service is supported by the University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press, and UDIT Research Cyberinfrastructure. UD Dataverse was funded in part by the National Science Foundation Campus Cyberinfrastructure program (NSF Award #2321980).

UD Dataverse

Whatever your reason – funder compliance, publication support, or long-term reuse – UD Dataverse offers a sustainable solution for long-term data stewardship. The repository is built on the open-source Dataverse platform and supports research data management practices aligned with the FAIR Principles, helping make research outputs more findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.

Why Deposit Data in UD Dataverse?

Publishing data through UD Dataverse helps researchers:

  • Increase the visibility and discoverability of their research
  • Enable others to verify and reproduce published findings
  • Meet funder, publisher, and data-sharing expectations and requirements
  • Receive formal credit for shared datasets through persistent identifiers and standardized data citation practices
  • Preserve research data in a trusted institutional repository
  • Connect datasets with related publications, projects, and scholarly outputs

By sharing data openly whenever possible, researchers can extend the impact of their work and contribute to a more transparent and collaborative research environment.

Getting Started

Most UD Dataverse features are self-service, but if you want to upload a dataset, you will need the appropriate permissions. Contact the Research Data and Design Commons with a short description of your dataset and we will update your permissions on the platform. The Research Data and Design Commons team is available to help with questions related to data organization, documentation, metadata, licensing, repository workflows, and data sharing strategies.

If you are planning to share data associated with a grant, publication, thesis, dissertation, or research project, we encourage you to contact us early in the process so we can help you prepare data for successful publication.

Ready to deposit data? Visit UD Dataverse and create an account using your usual UD Login. We also recommend reading our UD Dataverse Deposit Policies.

Need assistance? Contact the Research Data and Design Commons for consultations, training, and support. Additionally, if you need to share your data, but UD Dataverse does not seem to be the right fit, we are happy to help you find the right repository.
