Save the Date: Enhance the Family Study Space for Student Parents at UD
I Heart UD Giving Day will take place on April 29, 2026, and the University of Delaware community is invited to join in supporting student success. This year, the Library, Museums and Press is highlighting a project that enhances the Family Study Space for student parents in Morris Library.
Nearly 15 percent of graduate students at UD are parents, caring for almost 480 children ages five and under. Many face barriers to continuing their education due to limited access to childcare. Room 118 on the first floor of Morris Library is being transformed into a welcoming Family Study Space where student-parents can study while their children play nearby. The space will provide seating for up to twelve, the existing Parent and Child Study Carrel, children’s board books, child-sized activities, a reading rug, and engaging wall art.
Donors can begin making gifts as early as April 24. This project will fund furniture, learning materials, and child-friendly features that create a safe, supportive environment where student-parents can focus on their studies while their children play nearby. Save the date and join us in enhancing this space to better support student parents at the University of Delaware.
