The renovation of Morris Library Room 102, formerly known as the Class of 1941 Lecture Room, began the week of September 28, 2026. As part of a university-wide initiative to upgrade classroom facilities across campus, this project will transform Room 102 into an extended-hours study area, expanding student study options during times when the main library is closed.
Located adjacent to the main entryway and the 24-hour Morris Library Commons, the renovated Room 102 will establish a larger, integrated study zone at the front of the library. When the main library closes, the entire space will be accessible for student study using a UD ONECard access system via the patio door entrance.
The redesigned space will have a new glass storefront wall matching the entryway of Morris Library Commons, acoustic wall panels, updated carpeting, new lighting and ceiling systems, AV and window curtains. The space will accommodate 48 study seats, while maintaining the 70-seat lecture style configuration for Library instruction, meetings and events during the day.
The hope is that the renovation can be completed in time to use for Fall 2026 finals.
