JSTOR’s Path to Open provides libraries with affordable access to diverse, high-quality frontlist titles; support small and medium university presses in open access publishing; help authors reach a global audience; and advance equity of access to underserved researchers around the world. The growing collection includes peer-reviewed monographs in disciplines across the humanities and social sciences, with an emphasis on works that bring forward a range of perspectives and ideas. Path to Open books will be available DRM-free with unlimited user access.
MIT Press’s Direct to Open helps libraries provide open and equitable access to scholarship by offering access to new MIT Press works and backlist/archives and covers partial direct costs for publications available for print purchase.
Open Access Community Investment Program (OACIP)
The LYRASIS Open Access Community Investment Program (OACIP) is a collaborative framework that facilitates collective funding and evaluation of Diamond Open Access journals. It brings together stakeholders to support academic-led publishers, promote equity, and sustain diverse scholarship.
Open Library of Humanities (OLH) is an academic-led open access publisher offering journals in diverse humanities disciplines. OLH operates on an equitable funding model through library consortium support, making research freely accessible without authors paying fees.
Punctum Books is an open access academic publisher that challenges traditional forms of intellectual writing by supporting experimental and genre-bending works. Punctum follows a cooperative funding model with libraries, ensuring access to their publications without imposing author-facing fees to publish open access books.
SCOAP3 (the Sponsoring Consortium for Open Access Publishing in Particle Physics) offers open access publishing opportunities for journals related to high-energy physics.
University of Michigan Press Fund to Mission
University of Michigan Press’s Fund to Mission publishing model aims to make 75% of their monographs open access in 2023 without charging authors fees. Libraries supporting the initiative gain access to a mix of Press titles.

Directory of Open Access Journals
DOAJ is an online directory that indexes open access journals. If you want to find an open access journal to publish your research, the DOAJ is an excellent place to start looking.
Directory of Open Access Books
DOAB is a community-driven discovery service that indexes scholarly, peer-reviewed open access books.
ORCiD, which stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID, provides researchers with unique identifiers that accurately attribute their scholarly outputs. ORCiDs are being used by funders and publishers in order to connect individual publications with researchers’ whole bodies of work.
DataCite supports citation and discovery of research by providing persistent identifiers (DOIs) for research data and other research outputs.

Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) is a non-profit advocacy organization that promotes open access and equitable academic publishing through policy change and empowerment of its members to foster a fairer knowledge ecosystem.
The Higher Education Leadership Initiative for Open Scholarship (HELIOS) is a cohort of colleges and universities in the US that are committed to advancing open scholarship. Leaders from these institutions collaborate to promote transparency, inclusivity, and trust in research.
