Visiting and Services

The Special Collections reading room is located on the second floor of the Morris Library, 181 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19717-5267 USA.

Please confirm library hours before traveling to visit the library. In general, hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Please check this calendar to verify the hours of Special Collections.


Free guest parking is available at several remote campus lots. Paid parking is available at lots closer to Morris Library.

Local visitors may use metered parking adjacent to the Library or gated parking in LOT 41, directly opposite the Library on South College Avenue. A parking map is available from the Department of Public Safety.

Visitors wishing to obtain a guest parking pass may do so by registering at the UD parking website prior to their visit.

All users coming to the Morris Library need to have photo identification. Those with UD ONEcards can hold this ID to the card reader at the turnstiles for easy access to the Library.

If you do not have a UD ONEcard, a state-issued ID like a driver’s license or a government-issued, or school issued photo ID will be needed to enter the Morris Library.

Frequent visitors to the Morris Library who are over the age of 18 and who do not have a ONEcard may visit the Circulation and Reserve desk to register and have his/her photo taken for a free ONEcard. Visitors under 16 years of age need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to sign in at the Welcome Desk and enter the Morris Library.
