Librarians are key leaders on the Provost’s AI for Teaching and Learning Working Group, which is charged with guiding the University of Delaware over the next two academic years as our institution develops innovative practices and proposes sound policies regarding the use of emerging AI tools. As part of this group, Librarians have led efforts to identify and validate an AI Literacy definition and framework which will guide campus as it integrates AI related skills into the curriculum. Librarians have helped to create a guiding framework for educators using generative AI in the classroom. Librarians have also served as co-PIs with campus partners in the multi-institutional Ithaka S&R Making AI Generative for Higher Education project, researching local trends in how faculty use AI in their teaching and research, as well as faculty support needs.
