AI Leadership at UD

Librarians were key leaders on the Provost’s AI for Teaching and Learning Working Group, which was charged with guiding the University of Delaware to develop innovative practices and proposes sound policies regarding the use of emerging AI tools. As part of this group, Librarians led efforts to identify and validate an AI Literacy definition and framework for integrating AI-related skills into the curriculum. They also helped to create a guiding framework for educators using generative AI in the classroom. Finally, librarians served as co-PIs with campus partners in the multi-institutional Ithaka S&R Making AI Generative for Higher Education project, researching local trends in how faculty use AI in their teaching and research, as well as faculty support needs.
