Animating Adobe Illustrator Projects with Adobe After Effects
Text and video by Ellie Parcells, Education Resource Center and Student Multimedia Design Center
If you’ve ever needed to design a logo, title card, or poster, you’ve likely used or at least heard about Adobe Illustrator, the go-to tool for creating detailed and scalable graphics. However, one thing Illustrator isn’t known for is adding motion to those graphics. Exporting these assets and importing them into various video editing programs can be a tedious and complicated process.
Thankfully, there is a way to directly access and animate your Illustrator projects using another Adobe program called After Effects. In this video, we will learn how to import an entire Illustrator project, and animate each individual layer.
Both Illustrator and After Effects are available for use at the Student Multimedia Design Center in Morris Library, so stop by to add some flair to your next video project!
