About this Event
Explore some of the ways you can use data in your humanities research.
During this virtual workshop, you’ll learn some basics of data curation and management while becoming familiar with many of the issues raised with data usage in general and when specifically tailored to humanities datasets.
You’ll also get the chance to see OpenRefine, an open source desktop application for data cleanup and transformation. You are welcome to download OpenRefine in advance to see how it works, but it is not required for the workshop.
This workshop is open to the public. It will be led by Paige Morgan, digital publishing and copyright librarian, and Michael Stewart, metadata librarian. Those who are interested in learning about the ways data creation and curation can complement and enhance their research are encouraged to attend.
Registration is required. Once registered, you will receive an email with details on how to join the workshop via Zoom.
