How to Find and Transfer Files from Your Video Camera
by Ellie Parcells, Education Resource Center and Student Multimedia Design Center
The Student Multimedia & Design Center (SMDC) offers a wide array of beginner, intermediate, and advanced video camera kits to use in your next video project. While these cameras are excellent at producing high-quality video, finding and importing your footage from these cameras to your computer can sometimes be difficult. For instance, there are often differences in how each camera manages your saved footage, even if the cameras are of the same brand. Additionally, the save locations of your footage are not always intuitive, often buried within several subfolders. In this video guide, we will walk through the steps of locating video files stored on each of the video camera kits available at the SMDC.
Having the peace of mind of knowing just where to find the footage you created is crucial when it comes to completing any video project. So, drop by the SMDC the next time you’re in need of gear for your next video project!
