Navigating Library Resources for Games Studies and Esports Majors
By Kathy Cephas, Student Multimedia Design Center
Blue Hens who are pursuing a degree in game sports and esports will find plenty of support for their academic and recreational gaming interests at the Student Multimedia Design Center (SMDC) in Morris Library. The resources and spaces within the SMDC are available to all UD students, faculty and staff, and our expert staff are always happy to assist.
Within our Film and Video Collection, you will find an extensive video game collection complete with titles across Nintendo, PlayStation, XBOX and SEGA consoles. Browse this list to get a sense of what is available.
Video games can be borrowed for a minimum of one week or you can use them at one of the gaming stations in the SMDC.
If you wish to get some movement into your gaming, Studio 1 (Gaming Studio) is dedicated to virtual reality and rhythmic video games. There, you can play virtual reality games via Steam or console-based rhythmic video games, like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. To reserve Studio 1, simply stop by the SMDC service desk or give us a call.
Whether you need to use the collection for your coursework and studies, want to decompress between classes or want to try out a new game before purchasing it, stop by the SMDC to get your game on!
