Datasets:

Datasets are available for immediate download when signed into your personalized account. Materials can be downloaded as a whole with a zip file, or as individual materials in varying formats. Formats include Stata, SPSS, .CSV, ASCII, Word, PDF, etc.

Datasets from the 20th century are available as ASCII files. ASCII is a widely used preservation format, and these files can still easily be read by text editors. However, ASCII files must be converted to modern formats to be utilized by researchers. Roper offers guides on converting ASCII to Stata or ASCII to SPSS on their website.

The earliest data file format found in the collection is column binary, which was the standard data format for survey research for many years. Roper is working to convert all historical studies out of column binary format. If you require a study to be converted, please email data-services-requests@roper.center.
