Data Literacy

Data literacy is the ability to create, use and manage data. Beyond knowing where to find data and how to use it, researchers benefit from an awareness of the critical implications of its use.

Examples:

Those new to computational data analysis can use data visualizations to explore information and generate research questions from a dataset.

Anyone can learn how to craft an effective narrative through data, whether the data is spatial, numeric or qualitative.

Advanced researchers can learn how to effectively manage their research data in all aspects of the data lifecycle, from creation to maintenance to publishing.
