Conducting research is a process. To be an effective researcher requires the ability to generate appropriate research questions; develop strategies to find, evaluate, and use resources; design methodologies to support original studies; and credit the work of others.
Examples:
Those new to research or to the University can learn about local collections and methods of accessing the work of scholars through tours, orientations and instruction tailored to the needs of a course.
Those entering a new program or major can learn about the key methods and resources used by scholars in their discipline, and how to evaluate those resources.
Advanced researchers can benefit from Library expertise on research methods, including geographic information, text mining, data visualization and systematic reviews.
