Research Skills

Becoming an effective researcher requires a broad range of skills which vary across disciplines. The Library provides instruction and consultation support for researchers at all levels—from undergraduates just getting started to doctoral students and seasoned faculty—who need specialized help with advanced research projects including evidence synthesis, data visualization, copyright guidance, and scholarly publishing.

During regular business hours, we offer general reference support via our Ask the Library chat and email services. More advanced and in-depth subject support is available through scheduled consultations, workshops, and classroom instruction. In addition, subject specialist librarians maintain online research guides covering a wide range of disciplines, courses, and special topics as launching points for your research.

Please contact your subject librarian to discuss strategies for meeting your subject-specific research needs.
