Scopus is a citation and abstracting database covering more than 24,000 active titles, primarily peer-reviewed journals, including 4,000 Open Access journals, conference proceedings, trade publications, book series, and patents. Emphasis is on titles in the health sciences, physical sciences, life sciences, and social sciences.

More than 194,000 books – monographs, edited volumes, major reference works and graduate level textbooks – are also included. The emphasis is on social sciences and arts & humanities but also includes science, technology & medicine (STM).

Coverage: Primarily 1970-present, with pre-1970 records going back as far as 1788.
