About this Event
Visualizing data can help shed new insight on your research by providing context to your data. Discover how a geographic information system (GIS) can highlight spatial patterns and relationships within your data by managing and presenting it in map form along with demographic, economic and other data included in the PolicyMap platform.
During this workshop, learn how to easily upload data points, geocode addresses and place data on a map using PolicyMap, a user-friendly web-based mapping tool. By the end, you’ll be able to identify areas that meet up to three data criteria and download data from PolicyMap for use in your own research, mapping and presentations.
John Stevenson, head of the Multimedia Collections and Services Department, will lead the workshop. It is co-sponsored by UD IT’s Research Computing Group.
This workshop is open to UD students, faculty and staff. Faculty and students who are new to GIS and interested in how to incorporate it in their research or class assignments are encouraged to attend. Registration is required as seating is limited.
