Most databases provide limits to allow you to filter your results, as a way to keep unwanted items out of your results. Limits offered by Academic OneFile are pictured below.
For example, if your instructor has asked you to retrieve articles written within the past three years, or if you are looking for information written at the time of an historical event, such as September 11, 2001, you can limit your results to a certain range of dates.
You can also limit to peer-reviewed publications. Peer-reviewed or refereed means that articles published within these journals are selected by a panel of experts who evaluate them for accuracy and importance within the field of study.
